The rightstack

There is no single right tool for every website or application. Here is how we think about the ones we reach for most, and when each tends to make sense.

Platforms we work with

These are tools we use regularly. The right one for you depends on your content, your team and what the site or app needs to do.

  • Craft CMS

    Content

A flexible content management system we reach for when editors need fine control over structured content and the content model is specific to the business.

  • WordPress

    Content

A widely used platform with a large ecosystem. A sensible choice for content-led sites where a familiar editing experience and broad plugin support help.

  • Laravel

    Application

A mature PHP framework we use for custom web applications where the logic goes well beyond pages and posts.

  • Next.js

    Application

A React framework we use for fast front ends and headless builds, where a site and an application share the same content and APIs.

How we choose

We start from what you are trying to do and who will maintain it, not from a platform we already like. A content-heavy site with non-technical editors has different needs from a custom application with complex rules.

In practice, a few questions guide the decision:

  • Who edits the content, and how often?
  • How bespoke is the logic behind the pages?
  • Does a website and an application need to share the same content?
  • What does your team already know and host comfortably?

We are happy to explain the trade-offs for your specific case before anything is committed.
